Host#

Native Windows is not supported for the full signup and live-preview path. Use WSL there.

Browser#

Google Chrome, or Chromium. Pairing installs one if the machine has none, and uses the one already there if it can.

Linux packages#

xvfb-run, xauth, xdotool, unzip, setsid — needed to host and drive the browser.

FFmpeg#

FFmpeg with WHIP support, for publishing the live view. On supported Linux architectures the install fetches a verified static build when the system FFmpeg is unsuitable.

Networks#

Legacy Ethereum test wallets support native-token operations but cannot use the USDC provisioning rail.

Keeping current#

citizenai update --runtime <hermes|openclaw> refreshes the CLI, the account skill, and the worker together. Doing that after a runtime upgrade is the cheapest way to stay consistent.

Nothing updates itself. A machine keeps the version it installed until you run update.
